Extraction Healing (Spirit Extraction)

A complementary, body-centered and shamanic approach to energetic clearing and restoration.

Extraction Healing, also known as Spirit Extraction, is a traditional shamanic practice that focuses on clearing foreign or misplaced energies from the human energy field. Within this perspective, emotional distress, prolonged stress, or trauma may affect both the nervous system and the energetic system.

This work is offered as a complementary and experiential healing modality. It does not replace medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment.

What Is Extraction Healing?

From a shamanic perspective, the human being is understood as a system that includes body, mind, nervous system, and energy field. When a person experiences trauma, shock, prolonged stress, or emotional overwhelm, their system may become dysregulated.

In some traditions, this dysregulation is described as creating openings in the energy field where foreign or misplaced energies may settle. These are referred to as energetic intrusions.

Extraction Healing is the process of identifying and gently removing those intrusions, followed by restoring balance and strengthening the individual’s energetic boundaries.

Understanding Energetic Intrusions

Energetic intrusions are not viewed as evil or negative forces. They are understood as energies that ended up in the wrong place and disrupt the natural flow of vitality.

Examples may include:

  • Residual emotional energy from traumatic experiences
  • Lingering attachments from intense relationships
  • Persistent thought-forms rooted in fear or negativity
  • Cultural or generational belief patterns
  • In rare cases, experiences interpreted within certain traditions as spirit attachments

The interpretation depends on the client’s belief system and framework.

Possession: A Compassionate Interpretation

Within some shamanic traditions, what is described as possession is understood as the presence of a confused or suffering consciousness attached to a person during a time of vulnerability.

This perspective does not promote fear. Instead, it views such experiences as situations requiring compassionate resolution and boundary restoration.

Possible signs associated with this framework may include:

  • Chronic fatigue without clear explanation
  • Mood instability
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Persistent heaviness or emotional dullness
  • Feeling “not fully oneself”

These experiences can also have psychological or physiological explanations, and clients are encouraged to seek appropriate medical evaluation when necessary.

How Intrusions Are Said to Enter (Energetic & Nervous System View)

Periods of shock, trauma, grief, illness, or prolonged stress may lead to:

  • Nervous system dysregulation
  • Dissociation or emotional shutdown
  • Reduced energetic boundaries

Within shamanic understanding, such states may make a person more energetically permeable.

Extraction Healing works in conjunction with nervous system regulation practices to restore stability and resilience.

The Extraction Process

Each session is conducted in a safe, respectful, and grounded manner.

1. Assessment

The practitioner intuitively scans the energy field to determine whether imbalances are present and whether the person is ready for clearing.

2. Preparation

A protected and intentional space is created through grounding, prayer, or guided intention.

3. Extraction

The practitioner works to remove intrusive energies using non-invasive techniques such as:

  • Guided visualization
  • Energetic pulling or dissolving
  • Sound or breath
  • Trance-based work (when appropriate)

Removed energies are neutralized symbolically (through earth, water, salt, or fire rituals).

4. Restoration & Sealing

The affected area is cleansed and filled with restorative life force energy to strengthen boundaries and prevent recurrence.

After a Session

Clients may experience:

  • Increased clarity
  • Emotional release
  • Temporary fatigue
  • Greater groundedness
  • Improved sense of self

Integration practices such as rest, hydration, grounding, and boundary strengthening are recommended.

Prevention & Energetic Hygiene

Long-term resilience involves:

  • Nervous system regulation
  • Emotional awareness
  • Healthy relational boundaries
  • Grounding practices
  • Self-care and embodied presence

A regulated nervous system naturally strengthens energetic boundaries.

Ethical & Professional Context

Extraction Healing is practiced as a spiritual and complementary modality. It:

  • Does not diagnose medical or psychiatric conditions
  • Does not claim to cure disease
  • Does not replace licensed medical or mental health care
  • May be integrated with psychotherapy or medical treatment when appropriate

Clients experiencing severe psychological symptoms, psychosis, medical emergencies, or chronic illness are advised to seek licensed medical care.

Remote Sessions

Extraction Healing sessions may be offered remotely. The process is conducted through guided intention and energetic connection within the client’s belief framework.

Reclaiming Sovereignty

Extraction Healing is not about fear. It is about energetic clarity, boundary restoration, and self-sovereignty.

You have the right to feel clear, grounded, and fully present in your own body and life.
